As Deviant LinkWorthy pointed out, it's been a while since my last journal entry. It's been four years, in fact. It would be difficult to describe how my life has changed, but I can definitely say that the changes have been for the better. I haven't been as artistically active as I would like to have been over the past four years. I still see art as therapy. I tried my hand at painting miniatures and if my life wasn't so busy, I can easily see how I could get sucked into doing it all day every day! I've been creative in other ways, I suppose. I've planned a wedding with the help of a truly wonderful man, I've learned to knit, I've been doing a LOT of cooking. Mostly I've been adjusting to a new family, new job, new location, very nearly a whole new life.
I've come a long way since my last journal entry. I no longer feel as though a sad stark reality is crashing in around me. My reality is bright sunlight and soft snowfalls, tender love and a child's laughter. A long time coming, some say, but I feel fortunate to have found such happiness so soon. I will follow the advice from a fortune cookie I ate soon after I met the man who would soon be my new husband: "Stop searching forever. Happiness is just next to you."
